Selling Dietary Supplements on JVZoo: Compliance Requirements

JVZoo

Last Update 16 hari yang lalu

JVZoo allows the sale of dietary supplements by special approval only. To protect consumers, vendors, and the JVZoo marketplace, all supplement products must meet the compliance requirements outlined below before they can be approved.

If your product does not meet these requirements, it will be returned for correction.

Step 1: Request Permission to Sell Supplements
Before submitting your product for compliance review:
  • Submit your product through your JVZoo dashboard

  • Email support@jvzoo.com requesting permission to sell supplements

Once permission is granted, the Compliance Team will begin review.

Step 2: Required Documentation (All Supplements)
You must provide the following documentation before compliance review can proceed:

  • Certificate of Analysis (COA)
From an independent third-party laboratory or law firm

  • Product label artwork
    All panels (front, back, sides)

  • Manufacturer or fulfillment company name and address

  • Proof of cGMP compliance
    (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)

Incomplete documentation will delay approval.

Step 3: Additional Requirements for Non-US Sales
If you plan to sell your supplement outside the United States, additional documentation is required:

  • Marketability Certificate
Issued by a private laboratory or law firm confirming compliance in the target market

  • Any required notification confirmations or exemption documentation for the destination country

Products will not be approved for international sales without this documentation.

Step 4: Fulfillment & Shipping Requirements
All supplements sold on JVZoo must use an approved fulfillment partner:

  • Eagle Labs (current)

  • ShipOffers (coming soon)

Products using unapproved fulfillment providers will not be approved until corrected.

Step 5: Labeling & Claims Rules (Very Important)
Your product must:

  • Be clearly labeled as a dietary supplement

  • Include the required FDA disclaimer for structure/function claims:

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Medical claims are NOT allowed

You may not claim that your product diagnoses, treats, cures, or prevents any disease.

Examples of NOT allowed claims:

  • “Regrows hair”

  • “Cures Alzheimer’s”

  • “Treats depression”

  • “Reverses diabetes”

Allowed structure/function claims (when properly worded)

Examples include:

  • “May support memory and focus”

  • “May promote healthy hair growth”

  • “May support joint health”

All claims must be truthful, non-misleading, and supported if requested.

Step 6: Age Restrictions
Many adult-formulated supplements must include an age restriction.

  • Products marketed to adults or containing adult-only ingredients must include language such as:

Not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18.

Examples include:
  • Cognitive or nootropic supplements

  • Weight loss or metabolic products

  • Hormone-adjacent or stimulant-based supplements

  • Hemp or CBD products

Basic or family-oriented supplements (e.g., vitamins, probiotics) may be exempt when clearly marketed as such.

Step 7: Hemp, CBD, & Geographic Restrictions
If your product contains hemp, CBD, or other geographically restricted ingredients:
  • You must limit sales to permitted regions only

  • You must accept responsibility for configuring geographic restrictions in your account

Required Acknowledgment

In the Product Editor, you must check the Geographic Restriction Acknowledgment box confirming:

  • You are solely responsible for enabling and maintaining geographic sales restrictions

  • JVZoo does not manage or enforce these restrictions on your behalf

Where to set geographic restrictions:

My Account > Account Details > Customer Filtering

Failure to properly configure restrictions may result in suspension.

Step 8: Sales Page & Marketing Review
Your sales materials must include:

  • Accurate, compliant product descriptions

  • Clear delivery instructions on the Thank You page

  • A visible return policy (maximum 60 days unless otherwise approved)

  • Working customer support contact information

Misleading or exaggerated marketing language must be corrected before approval.

Step 9: Compliance Decision & Ongoing Monitoring
  • Once approved, your documentation is logged internally

  • JVZoo conducts periodic audits of supplement listings

  • Any changes to claims, labels, fulfillment, or geographic availability may trigger re-review

Common Reasons Products Are Returned
  • Missing COA or incomplete documentation

  • Medical or disease claims

  • Missing age restriction (when required)

  • Geographic restriction acknowledgment not accepted

  • Unapproved fulfillment provider
